I think as Michael Totten has shown that Islam in Bonia has not been of the "kill the infidel" type. I fall on the Ralph Peters and not Mark Steyn side of the equation. Not only do I think moderate Islam exists, it is necessary especially in a Europe with an increasing Moslem population.

I meant Pipes, not Peters. Sorry.

It seems to me that the USA and the West in general can only benefit from continued and even increasing involvement with Bosnia and Kosova. Tangible evidence of Western support for two Muslim populations is a powerful counterweight to Islamic extremist propaganda, and a strong message to other European Muslims that they can, after all, become a part of Europe--indeed, that they would be better off if they were to integrate.
